Rajathan Royals
Since winning the inaugural competition in 2008, the Rajasthan Royals have slipped downhill rather quickly with a seventh-placed finish in 2010. The franchise was then forced to fight an ugly legal battle with the BCCI just to compete in the IPL this year.
Shane Warne and Shane Watson were the two players retained by the Royals and Warne will both coach and captain of the side this season.

» STENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
Warne has the tactical intuition and leadership ability to lead even the Royals to success in 2011′s expanded competition. The squad will not be short on experience, with seasoned campaigners Rahul Dravid, Paul Collingwood and Proteas T20 skipper Johan Botha, while in Ross Taylor and Watson they possess two proven match-winners with the bat.
Weaknesses
A lack of off-season spending means that the Royals just don’t appear to have the same depth and talent in their squad as most of the other IPL franchises, and in Warne, Dravid and Collingwood they have three key players who are passed their prime. In addition there appears to be a shortage of proven Indian talent, and unless Rajasthan can uncover more than one diamond in the rough this season they may be in for a tough time.
